Following strong business ethics, supply chain integrity and ethical partnerships are fundamental for us. Sustainability is an integral part of our values, operating principles and strategy.
We are committed to global sustainability initiatives
We commit to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through our Sanoma Sustainability Strategy. The Sanoma Code of Conduct encompasses the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption. Sanoma is a signatory of the UN Global Compact. We commit to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the International Labour Organization’s (ILO) Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development.
Sustainability on executive management agenda
Sanoma has defined management principles for sustainability and sustainability is guided by our Sustainability Strategy approved by the Board of Directors. Our Sustainability Strategy becomes concrete through company-wide goals, roadmaps, guidelines and follow-up methods. Sustainability management is a part of executive management responsibilities and remuneration.
Our policies guide our daily work
We are committed to complying with the legislation of each country in which we operate, and require the same from our partners. In addition to legislation, we follow sustainability principles that are embedded into our policies. Sanoma's Sustainability and Human Rights Policy defines Sanoma's due diligence process and responsibilities related to sustainability. Sanoma's Code of Conduct sets out ethical guidelines to our employees. Sanoma's Supplier Code of Conduct outlines our requirements towards our business partners. Our employees are trained on ethics on a continuous basis through our compulsory Code of Conduct e-learning and other sustainability related policy e-learnings to ensure compliance with our policies.
We have zero tolerance for misconduct
The Sanoma-WhistleB reporting hotline enables Sanoma group employees, customers and business partners to report suspicions of misconduct confidentially and anonymously.
